Nandu R Krishna an RSS Shakha functionary hacked to death by SDPI-PFI cadres on yesterday 24.02.2021 at Vayalar, Alapuzha district.
The assailants inflicted a deep cut on his neck using swords, and this led to his death. His body is kept in Alapuzha medical college for post-mortem.
Nandu S another RSS Shakha functionary is also seriously injured in the same attack. He is admitted to a privet hospital in Ernakulum.
His hands were chopped off using swords. The 22 year old Nandu R Krishna is the only child of his parents. Following the incident police arrested 8 persons belonging to SDPI-PFI.
Arrested persons hails from Vaduthala, Eramallur, Nedumbrakkad and Vayalar. In this first three places are considered to be the fertile grounds of PFI activities.
According to sources last few days the SDPI organised various programmes in Vayalar and made derogatory remarks against Hindu symbols.
To condemn this act a procession was organised in the Nagankulangra junction and both the victims were part of this protest march. During this march the SDPI-PFI cadres pelted stones and created violence.
Following this police requested the people to ease tension and the RSS workers left the place following this request. But the assailants were not ready disperse and targeted the house of RSS Mandal functionary in the area.
Later around 9.45 PM the culprits attacked the victims using deadly weapons while they were on the way to their homes. Further it is to be noted that the weapons were brought from near by mosque.
This clearly shows that the provocation and attack was premeditated one. This is not the first time SDPI-PFI is creating problems in the area.
Earlier during the time of Sabarimala protest a group of SDPI-PFI cadres tried to attack a procession of devotees following a demonstration. Then the PFI men come with deadly weapon including swords from a mosque named Chandroor mosque.
Unfortunately, then the police refused to take any action against them. It is believed that the PFI cadres of this area enjoys a silent support of local CPIM MP Arif. BJP state president K Surendran condemned the murder and said,
that both UDF and LDF are nurturing Islamic radicals in the state. Further, he criticised the state police for their inaction and support for radical elements.
RSS and BJP today observed a district level Harthal at Alapuzha to express their protest in the murderous attacks. Barring isolated incidents the Harthal was largely peaceful.
Considering the law and order situation the police imposed section 144 in the Ambalapuzha taluk. According to the FIR the assailants hatched a plan to commit the attack and murder based on this the first accused Harshad and second accused Ashkar exchanged weapons.
Including conspiracy 12 sections of the CRPC is charged against culprits. Riyas a native of Panavally, Nishad native of Aroor, Yasir native of Vaduthala, Anas native of Ezhupunna, Abdul Khaddar native of Vayalar, Ansil, Suneer and Shajudhin natives of Cherthala are the other accused arrested by the police.
The presence of people from various places in the group of accused clearly indicate that the attack was premeditated.
